Now it's clear that the journey to Tortuga was a mistake. When you had sailed under a common trade flag, you had the order to collect goods and return to the fleet. Port Royal would have been a sensible choice, but it was considerably further away. On the other hand, you could buy the same goods in Tortuga at a cheaper price. And with the money you had saved in this way, you could spend a few days in pleasurable joy before returning to your captain. But a group of pirates have taken advantage of your naivety. They took hold of you during the night, knocked you unconscious, and now they are holding you captive in their storeroom until their ship is ready. Who can guess a pirate's thoughts? But the risk is that you will be thrown onto a slave ship and then sent to some unpleasant place for a lifetime of hard work without any reward. This, of course, unless you can escape before they return and take you.
